This is the third most populated city in the Republic of Ireland (approx. 75,000 inhabitants), after Dublin and Cork, and the largest on the west coast of the island with a high percentage of young people as there are two universities in the town, which give Galway an especially youthful, entertaining, lively character with a fantastic pub atmosphere.
